When Christmas morning came around
In Grandpa’s stocking could be found
After Shave and nose hair clippers
But best of all, Brand new slippers
But those slippers were too big
And caused Grandpa to do a jig
Every time he’d walk about
His feet would pop both in and out
Even though his family teased
With these slippers he was pleased
Till one morn at five past three
Grandpa woke to have a pee
So up at dawn like the Lark
Top of staircase, very dark
His shoes were loose
The stairs were steep
And at the bottom in a heap
Slipperless and not a peep
Grandpa took his final sleep
He shoulda wore ’em.

Do you mean that he should have worn them or shouldn’t have worn them? Anyway, that’s a mute point now that he’s dead!

Well, I guess that is the bottom line. Shoulda = should’ve = should have. Sorry. I talk good American.

Poor old grandpa wasn’t bright
You really should turn on the light…

Poor old grandpa wasn’t bright
You really should turn on the light
He should have done on that one night
But that would cost and he was tight…
