They rented a local allotment,
veg was the thing they would grow
A tenner a year, what a bargain,
so they purchased a spade and a hoe
Potatoes and carrots and parsnips,
onions and garlic and leeks
Digging and planting and hoeing,
they were at it for quite a few weeks
Then along came the rabbits and foxes,
a badger a deer and some thieves
All that was left in the morning,
was a slug on some partly chewed leaves!
So they sold all the tools to a neighbour,
handed back keys to the shed
Went to their local veg market
and purchased their produce instead…
And a wiser choice could not be made.

I’m sure enjoying these daily ditties, Chris.
You have a talent alright.
